These findings provide initial support for the contention that perceptions of variety may represent a salient psychological experience, beyond the more established psychological needs encapsulated within SDT, and might account for unique variance in participant well-being in physical activity contexts.
Such phenomena are commonly referred to as reflecting the zeitgeist—literally, the spirit of the times. That is, people tend to respond to questions regarding their experience of variety differently than they respond to questions regarding perceptions of competence, relatedness, or autonomy in exercise. It is these cognitive and conceptual resources to which we now turn. Without a sense of efficacy and the experience of success, children will withdraw from the failure milieu, either physically or psychologically. Table 6.4.1 shows that all of these studies have concluded that offenders are more alienated than non-offenders. Closely related is the idea that each domain has its own system of internal logic and that growth in the field must follow this logic. In either case, social as well as intellectual consequences are involved. Quite a lot of research indicated that bullying has an adverse impact on a student’s academic adjustment, psychosocial adaptation, and attitudes toward school (Cook, Williams, Guerra, Kim, & Sadek, 2010; Polanin, Espelage, & Pigott, 2012). Social infrastructure are foundational services and structures that support the quality of life of a nation, region, city or neighborhood. Or the community, not necessarily by design, may focus primarily on social relationships (positive or negative) and personal agendas. Let us provide an example of how this was done successfully.
