We would add, that what is here meant is not the quickening of truths already present in the minds of the individuals (so that 1 John 2:27 might be brought into comparison); but the first impartation of truths not yet made known.

The messenger-Spirit should not have a message of his own separate and apart from his divine Sender. Correct speculative knowledge and spiritual knowledge experience teaches do not admit of protracted separation. There are thoughts that dwell in our minds that were not born there, but which were exotics brought from heaven and put there by the Spirit.
