Do not the truth; do not obey it, or act in accordance with it. The criteria for that validation is not good works but believing the revelation of imputed righteousness and forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, which John defines as "the light" (revelation). Have fellowship with him (1 John 1:3) - the essence of the Christian life. By trusting Him we are delivered from the suspicion which is the very essence of sin.
