Hi, I made this today with brown jasmine rice, and followed your advice to add 1/4 cup additional water. Then turn off the Express Crock and allow to rest for 10 minutes. The onion adds an extra flavor to the rice but there is no need to add a lot of it. This recipe was developed for a 6-quart/6-liter Instant Pot. What an easy, delicious recipe. Do you think this recipe would work in a rice cooker? It’s the perfect texture. I especially love this dish because it’s a quick and easy dump-and-go recipe. Ok! Can I make this in advance and reheat? What type of rice and brand of coconut milk did you use? My Instant Pot has a rice setting so I’m using that. This allows the grain to cook the rest of the way. I love making rice-based meals in my Instant Pot. Just tried to make this, I got a “burn” message pretty quickly in a couple minutes. I even bought a nonstick pot to try and stop it from burning but that didn’t work. I used light coconut milk and put my Instant Pot on manual for 24 minutes with NPR, it came out perfect. Auto-Import recipes from the all over the web & keep them in one place! Everybody liked this combination. Give everything a good stir.

The rice turned out okay but burnt and hard on the bottom where the rice had contact with the pot. The first 22 minutes are cooked on pressure. Make better-tasting meals in a fraction of the time with an electric pressure cooker! Thanks for reporting back Grace!
I followed the recipe to the t. It stuck to the bottom and the rice wasnt cooked all the way. :) Looks amazing, will be adding this to my meal plan for next month. Delicious! However, it will work in any 3-quart or 6-quart with no change to the recipe, including the Duo Evo Plus.. I sealed my Express Crock and cooked it on high for 15 minutes. It’s wonderful. The brand I used was Thai Kitchen. I think I will try the rice setting next time. I have always wanted to make this.

I was still eating the kinda cooked rice. I just bought a power cooker and accidentally came upon your website. Same here. Followed the directions exactly and got a burn error before the pot came to pressure. I am trying not to eat it all while I wait for our coconut-lime chicken legs to come out of the oven. Just cooked this using basmati rice and it turned out perfect. Here are some serving suggestions for your perfectly cooked brown rice: Personally, I haven’t cooked more than a couple of cups at a time in my 6-quart Instant Pot because I don’t need more than that. Though it looks just like the regular plain white rice, but once you lean close…. About Us I have everything on hand for this. Thank you! Thanks Nick for sharing! Turned the rice off the high pressure that your recipe stated to use and waited a couple minutes and used the regular rice setting. As hard as I would try, every time I cooked brown rice on the stovetop, it came out terribly. You can use it for lighter dishes like this Thai Coconut Chicken recipe!
